Three Yakima Police Department (YPD) officers are bringing an early Christmas holiday to families in need of assistance.
Erin Levy, Lyn Thorn and Eli Huizar are YPD school resource officers and they spent today delivering gifts to three families in the Yakima area. The officers collected donations in order to purchase food items and presents for families who could use assistance during the holiday time.
“It’s a great team effort by these officers to make the holidays brighter for local families in need,” said Interim Police Chief Gary Jones. “I’m proud of all three for not only taking the initiative to raise these funds, but seeing the project through today and delivering the gifts.”
