Yakima Police Officers Take Part in Torch Run for Special Olympics

Several members of the Yakima Police Department took part in the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics. Five Officers along with Federal ATF and Homeland Security Agents each ran 5 miles and completed a 40 mile trip from south of Toppenish to Naches. The officers took over for a Tri-Cities team that ran across the state in support of Special Olympics. The Torch run ended at Joint Base Lewis-McChord during the Opening Ceremonies of the Washington State Special Olympics, which was held June 3rd, 4th and 5th.
