The Yakima Police Department recently held an open house at the Richard Zais Law and Justice Center at 200 South Third Street. Over 200 people took the opportunity to tour the Yakima Police Operations and the Yakima City Municipal Jail. Hot dogs and refreshments were served as community members had a chance to meet members of the Yakima Police Swat Team , Motor Unit, K-9 Unit, Detectives, Bike Patrol and our Forensic Division. “This is part of our continual effort to engage the community and promote transparency within the Yakima Police Department.” says Yakima Police Chief Dominic Rizzi.
