In the ongoing effort to build trust between the Yakima Police Department and local citizens, YPD is hosting Roll Call BBQ’s in neighborhoods throughout the city. The idea is to bring officers together with residents in neighborhoods they patrol and to allows citizens to get to know the officers. The first Roll Call BBW was held at Miller Park and the second was held behind the United Pentecostal Church at the corner of McKinley and Oregon Avenues. Several more BBQ’s and picnics will be held throughout the summer.
