Yakima Police Ask for Community Help in Stabbing Death Investigation

Yakima police are asking for community members to provide any information they may have about the stabbing death of a 73-year-old man Wednesday evening.

At about 9:00 pm Wednesday, Yakima police officers responded to a report of a stabbing victim in the 400 block of North 6th Street.  When officers arrived on the scene, they discovered the victim had been stabbed several times. 

Officers provided first aid to the victim until an ambulance arrived on scene.  The victim was taken to the hospital by ambulance, but was pronounced dead a short time later.

The name of the victim is not being released until his family members are notified of his death.

Yakima police have not identified a suspect(s) in the incident.
