On Sunday, November 18th at approximately 2:30 pm, Yakima police officers responded to a report of a pedestrian having been struck by a vehicle at the intersection of West Lincoln Avenue and North 5th Avenue.
Preliminary details indicate that a 60-year-old man was in the south crosswalk when a minivan driven by a 45-year-old man collided with him. The van was traveling westbound on West Lincoln Avenue in the 400 block, turned south onto South 5th Avenue, and apparently struck the pedestrian.
The pedestrian was stabilized on scene by medical personnel. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The occupants of the van were not injured.
There was no indication that alcohol was involved. An investigation of the incident is ongoing.
