Victim of Sunday Evening Shooting Released from Hospital

A man who was shot in the back late Sunday evening was treated at a local hospital and released early Monday morning.

At about 11:40 pm Sunday, Yakima police responded to a report of a shooting victim in the 1400 block of Roosevelt Avenue.  When police arrived at the scene, they found 35-year-old Victoryondo Morales, who was suffering from gunshot wounds to his back.  Morales said he was shot in an alley by an unknown suspect.  Morales made his way to a nearby apartment.  A friend of the victim called 9-1-1 to report the incident.

Morales was transported to Astria Regional Medical Center, treated, and released.

Yakima police continue to investigate the incident.  No arrests have been made at this time.
