At about 2:00 am on Saturday, Yakima police responded to a report of shots fired at the Mesa Apartments on Gordon Road. After arriving on the scene, officers found 25-year-old Raymond Barnes, who had received a gunshot wound to his torso. Police also found 27-year-old April Wiltse-Emery in a different apartment at the complex suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.
Both victims were transported to a local hospital for treatment. Wiltse-Emery was eventually transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for treatment of her head wound. The current medical conditions of the victims are not known.
At about 3:05 am Saturday, Yakima police officers responded to a report of a body in an alley in the 400 block of South 9th Street. After arriving on the scene, officers found 27-year-old Manuel Pantaleon, who had died from a gunshot wound to his head. Police believe Pantaleon had been attending a party about a block from where his body was found.
Yakima police do not believe the two Saturday morning shootings are related. Police also do not believe the Saturday morning shootings are related to a homicide that occurred on Friday morning.
No arrests have been made at this time pending further investigation by police.
