Two Yakima Valley men who served our county in the United States Army are the newest members of the Yakima Police Department. Today 26-year-old Victor Magana and 29-year-old Nicolaus Johnson were sworn in as YPD Probationary Officers. Magana is a graduate of Prosser High School. His five year service in the Army ended two weeks ago. Victor says he has always wanted to be in law enforcement. Johnson, who served in the Army for ten years until last Friday is a graduate of Eisenhower High School. He comes from a military family and is the first member of his family to serve in law enforcement. The Yakima Police Department not only welcomes Nick and Victor , but we also want to thank them for their service to our country. Both Nick and Victor will be attending the Police Academy within the next few months.
