Armed robberies were reported at two mini-markets in Yakima Saturday morning.
At about 7:30 am on Saturday, November 17th, Yakima Police Department (“YPD”) officers responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Food Mart located at 620 North 16th Avenue. The suspect in the robbery of the Food Mart is described as a man wearing a tan mask, a black and gray flannel shirt, black jeans, and dark-colored shoes. The suspect is approximately 5’8″ tall and weighs approximately 220 pounds. The suspect was reported to be carrying a black firearm in his waistband. The suspect fled the store on foot and headed northbound.
A second armed robbery call was received at about 7:50 am from the Tieton Food Mart located at 4708 Tieton Drive. The suspect entered the store, pointed a firearm at the cashier, and demanded money. The suspect is described as a man between 5’10” and 6′ tall and weighing about 200 pounds. The suspect had his face covered and was wearing black jeans, a dark beanie, and a flannel shirt. The suspect fled the store on foot before getting into a vehicle located nearby.
