Two Drive-by Suspects Arrested

Two men suspected of being involved in a drive-by shooting in mid-October were arrested by Yakima police on Saturday, October 30th

At about 7:15 pm this past Saturday, a detective assigned to the Yakima Police Department’s (YPD) Gang Unit spotted the two suspects, who police believe were involved in a drive-by shooting on October 13th near 3rd Avenue and West A Street.  With the assistance of YPD patrol officers, the pair of suspects was arrested in the 1000 block of West Nob Hill Boulevard.

Isaiah Mendez Sanchez was booked into the Yakima County Jail and charged with Assault 1st Degree and Drive-by Shooting.  Ruben Valentine Cornejo, Jr. was booked on charges of Assault 1st Degree, Drive-by Shooting, and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.

Police are still searching for another suspect in the shooting, 20-year-old Armando Mendez Sanchez.

The victim of the shooting is still being treated at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
