Yakima Police Department (“YPD”) officers arrested at 29-year-old man this afternoon after he made threats to harm family members.
Officers responded to a 9-1-1 call at about 2:00 pm today that came from a house at 802 N. 40th Avenue. The caller, a family member of the man who was arrested, told a 9-1-1 call taker that the man had a firearm and was threatening family members.
After responding to the scene, YPD officers were able to safely move the man’s family members out of the house. Following an extended negotiation between the man and police, which lasted about two hours, the man came out of the house and was arrested.
No one was injured as a result of the incident.
