Roadrunner Armed Robbery Suspect Arrested

A 35-year-old Hispanic man has been arrested on suspicion of having committed an armed robbery at a Yakima convenience store on Thursday afternoon.

On November 15th at 2:49 pm, an armed robbery was reported at the Roadrunner mini-mart at 1820 S. 3rd Avenue.  A single subject robbed the store of an undisclosed amount of cash and fled in a vehicle.

Video recovered from the store showed the vehicle the suspect used to flee from the scene.  Yakima Police Department (“YPD”) officers located the vehicle parked near a house in the 600 block of North 5th Avenue.  YPD officers and detectives surrounded the house the vehicle was located near and the suspect was located inside.  He was arrested without incident.

Late last night, YPD detectives obtained a search warrant for the house and recovered evidence of the crime inside.

At this time, it is still unclear if this robbery is related to a number of robberies that have occurred recently in Yakima.

Additional information will be provided as it becomes available.
