Yakima Police Department (YPD) detectives are investigating a homicide that occurred this morning, Saturday, March 7th.
At about 9:30 am today, YPD officers responded to a call of shots fired in the 1100 block of Folsom Avenue. Once on scene, officers discovered a 31-year-old female in an alley in the vicinity of the shots fired call. The victim appeared to have suffered a gunshot wound to the upper chest.
Medical personnel arrived on scene, but were unable to revive the victim.
The name of the victim is not being released pending notification of her family.
