Name of Victim of Thursday Morning Shooting on 6th Street Released

Yakima police have identified the victim of a shooting early Thursday morning as 25-year-old Omar Flores.

Flores, who sustained gunshot wounds to his torso, foot, and groin during the shooting, died as a result of his injuries.  A news release issued yesterday said that Flores had been transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle on Thursday morning.  However, while Flores was being prepared for transport to Harborview, his condition worsened.  Flores was returned to a Yakima hospital where he passed away Thursday afternoon.
