Community members will have two opportunities to meet Yakima Police Department (YPD) officers assigned to Districts 4 and 5 during an event on Tuesday, June 4th.
The “Meet Your District Officer” event will be from 10:30 am to 11:30 am and 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm on June 4th at the Starbucks inside Safeway at 1610 West Lincoln Avenue.
“YPD has officers assigned to 9 districts to enhance community policing,” said Police Chief Matt Murray. “This event will be an opportunity for those who live and work in Districts 4 and 5 to meet officers serving their area.”
An interactive map at https://yakimapolice.org/ypd-district-map/ shows areas in the City covered by each of the 9 YPD Districts. Visitors to the site can enter the address of their work or home to find their YPD Districts. Information is also available by calling 575-6197.
