10-Year-Old is Yakima Chief for a Day

Ten-year-old  Esteban Cruz has been recognized by the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission as the Yakima Police Chief for a Day 2016. In a ceremony held in Burien on August 18th, Chief Esteban was sworn in, along with 33 other little chiefs from around the state. Accompanying Chief Esteban for the day was Captain Jay Seely. Chief for a Day allows police departments throughout the state to sponsor a child with a chronic illness and help them focus on their dreams instead of their illnesses.
